Dublin Bucket

A Bucket is when 5 or more super yachts get together for a regatta. The traditional Buckets have always been in St Bart's during the Winter season and Nantucket in the summer but the Nantucket Bucket is no more. The America's Cup in New Zealand had an effect on numbers of participants, as well as the fact that it was privately run.

With the St. Brendan's Cup Challenge we see a large enough fleet to warrent a Bucket. Yacht size is of 100' + unless invited by the organisers - ie a sponsors yacht or a famous classic. Three to 4 days of yacht racing culminate in a party or ball, with the importance placed on fun more than racing.
