with Ocean Race Chesapeake In just a short time, we will host the arrival of the Volvo Ocean Race on the Chesapeake Bay and will stand ready to welcome the syndicates and their crews to our stopover. We hope you have been following the race on the Internet: www.VolvoOceanRace.org and we know you have checked out this web site already for stopover plans and schedules. As we gear up for the arrival of the Volvo Race, it is time to get our volunteer force in ready mode and we hope you will join us in hosting this exciting international sailing event! Below is a list of the volunteer needs identified so far. These volunteer opportunities will change daily and will continue until the day the boats leave for La Rochelle on April 28. Please take the time to fill in the Volunteer Registration Form to give us an idea of the dates and times you will be available. We will do our very best to accommodate your preferences. 1.
Baltimore Volvo Ocean Race Village at the Baltimore Waterfront
Festival Race Experience:
Explain to the public the inner workings of a Volvo 60 using a full-scale
cutaway model Event
Help: Set up on April 25, ticketing, greeter, check credentials and
passes (may need to stand outside for periods of time), breakdown on April
28. Harbormaster:
Assist the Annapolis City Harbormaster round-the-clock with a variety
of outdoor work on the Volvo Race docks Media:
Receptionist, runner, press assistant Information Booth: Greet visitors and answer questions in an outdoor setting 3.
